How can we help you?

HELP Education assists and encourages young people's educationHELP will explain the benefits of setting up an autonomous school and outline to you why it is not only achievable but also highly beneficial for the children concerned.

Challenges:

  • Time – Parents may be concerned that running a school will be time-consuming and complicated. However, their involvement will be at a distance with professionals, notably the head teacher, retaining responsibility for what happens in the classroom.
  • Policy - As yet, Scotland lacks a clearly defined policy path for the establishment of state-funded autonomous schools, however a number already exist.

Getting started

The first step is to form an action group of like-minded and parents to help us make the case to the Scottish Government.

We will provide you with guidance on Forming an Action Group and also supply you with the Practical Guide for the Establishment of New State-Funded Autonomous Schools in Scotland.

Co-operative values and principles can play a significant role in helping improve the education system in Scotland.
Working together we can build better, brighter prospects……….. for everyone.
